The HP Surestore Tape Array 5500 is an assured high-performance,
high-capacity backup solution for 19-inch racks. Ideal for large
workgroups or small to mid-sized data centers that require high availability
features, this rack-optimized enclosure holds up to five high performance
DLT or Ultrium tape drives. Five independent SCSI buses can be configured
independently or daisy-chained together. Fully redundant, offline
hot-swappable components enable easy in-rack servicing with no downtime
(maximum two drives per bus). This 4U enclosure boasts the highest
density in its class and can hold from 80 GB to 1 TB of compressed
data in only seven inches of rack space, offering a scalable solution
that grows with your needs. To protect your investment, the modular
design accepts multiple tape technologies so your backup capacity
can expand as needed.

The StorageTek L700e tape library is an evolutionary step above
and beyond the already successful StorageTek L700 tape library.
Designed for the large, distributed open systems implementations
in UNIX and Windows NT environments, the L700e allows for connecting
two L700e's together to provide an increase in storage capacity
as your business grows. The two L700e's are connected together with
a unique Pass Through Port (PTP), expanding beyond the current 678
cartridge slot capacity to 1344 cartridge slots - nearly doubling
your overall capacity.
